Expeditions

Several times per year Generations Humanitarian takes groups to Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia to perform humanitarian service. For most, meeting your fellow expedition members, immersing yourself in the culture, serving those in need and working with the children becomes a life-changing experience. Working beside the Latin American poor touches the hearts of those who give and those who receive. Our expeditions are carried out in a safe and professional way to provide a unique and personal glimpse into the heart and soul of the Latin American world. We invite you to come along and join us in 2010-11.

Expedition projects for 2010-11 will focus on relief and development for refugees (internally displaced) in Colombia and Ecuador and the water project for our Sunflower Orphanage in Peru. Medical and dental projects may be added to existing construction expeditions as medical personnel sign on. The most important skills on expeditions are hard work and a good attitude.

To participate in one of our expeditions simply: 1. Download the Application below for your trip of interest; 2. Fill the application out, sign pages 3 & 4 and send them in with your full deposit; 3. We will contact you via email regarding preparations, packing, donations, and suggested international airfare. (All airfare is not included in the expedition cost, but we will help coordinate tickets).

Visit to Caribbean beaches, possibly San Andres if enough want to go! Please see this link about the refugee community we will help. Don't be afraid to come to Colombia. We would not take you to unsafe places. Colombia is the secret treasure of South America and they love American visitors! Watch this video about Colombia!

"After all my travels throughout Peru, I was shocked to see the level of poverty in the center of Colombia. The people of Colombia are beautiful, gracious and eager to help their own, but unsure of where to begin. I was honored to spend a few days in Colombia with the children from the drop-in centers. I felt safe and reassured that we were well taken care of. When you meet and interact with the street children of Colombia there is a sense of home and belonging. I would recommend the experience to those wanting to really see how they can make a difference." ---Linsey Gleed
